Abastecer o carro em Franca também tem exigido um conhecimento matemático. A conhecida “regrinha de três” se transformou em solução na hora de escolher qual combustível compensará mais para encher o tanque. Atualmente: o etanol.

O cálculo básico para identificar qual combustível é mais vantajoso é saber se o etanol representa mais ou menos que 70% do preço da gasolina. Se for menor, quer dizer que o derivado de álcool compensa. Do contrário, a gasolina é mais vantajosa.

Nas bombas de postos francanos, o etanol está custando R$ 4,89. Já o derivado de petróleo tem custado R$ 6,99. Logo, o etanol representa 69,9% do valor da gasolina, compensando mais na hora de abastecer.

Essa é a primeira vez desde abril do ano passado que o combustível etílico é mais vantajoso do que a gasolina.

Na época, segundo levantamento da ANP (Agência Nacional de Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustível), o etanol representava 68% do preço da gasolina, com eles custando R$ 3,73 e R$ 5,46, respectivamente.

Durante este período, o etanol alcançou valores mais elevados na comparação com a gasolina. Os maiores preços foram registrados nos meses de novembro e dezembro, quando o combustível custou, em média, R$ 5,46 e R$ 5,26, representando, na época, 80% do valor da gasolina. Nesse caso, no custo/benefício, compensava abastecer com o derivado de petróleo.
