História do Brasileirão SUB-20

Portanto, o campeonato nacional sub-20 foi apresentado durante um evento ocorrido na sede da Federação Gaúcha de Futebol em 14 de março de 2006. Já na primeira edição, houve a adesão de 30 times. O primeiro campeão foi o Internacional, em uma final com o Grêmio. Posteriormente, Cruzeiro e América Mineiro seguiram a linha sucessória de títulos, quebrada novamente pelo Inter, em 2013. O Corinthians foi campeão em 2018. Em 2019, o campeão foi o Flamengo. Já, o atual campeão é o Atlético Mineiro, que venceu nos pênaltis o Atlético-PR. Os lances e melhores momentos desta partida, podem ser assistidos logo a seguir.

Assim, a competição em 2021, se iniciou em junho de 2021. Contudo, como as maiores competições mundiais, a competição de juniores começa sem a presença de público nos estádios.
